Team Blizard Race Report
Once again, we have an action-packed race report for you from a variety of distances and surfaces up and down the country and further afield for you to celebrate some excellent performances.
We kick off the report with two off-road races that took place over the weekend, the first being on Saturday the National Cross-Country Relays at Mansfield, where so many of you were representing your club in this annual fixture that has been going for many years. There were far too many to individualise each person, so a massive well done to everybody who ran, and a special mention to Bill Taylor's training group from Newark AC, whose men's team ran a very impressive 5th place overall.
The next off-road race is the next round of the KMRC Canal Race near Rotherham, where again, many of the local athletes took part in this popular event.
Another trail race, this time that took place on Sunday, was the Guy Fawkes 10-mile trail race, where coached athletes Madeleine Stansfield and Richard Burke utilised the race as part of their training, and a big shout out to regular training partner over many years for many of you in Jacob Clark, who ran an excellent 6th place in the men's field overall, sporting a very smart Team Blizard vest.

Staying on the road, there was a couple of 10k road races for us to report from, where the undulating Deepdale Dash over in Barton-upon-Humber took place, where many of you ran in, and a special shout out to Scott Burrell, who finished 5th in the Southwall 10k, which ended up almost being like a cross-country race because of the rain!

The final race to report from is over the pond in the New York Marathon, where Anthony Corcoran ran an excellent 3 hours 20, while coached athletes Steve Geraghty and Sarah Sanderson both gave excellent performances, with Steve running a highly creditable 2.46hrs on the undulating course, and Sarah completing her 2nd American Marathon in 2 weeks, making the Chicago and New York Marathons back-to-back her goal for the year.
Each week we give a “Run of the Week” award to, and this week it goes to Jimmy Hanrahan, who ran a fantastic new personal best of 2 hours 41minutes to just sneak inside the top 500 places in this iconic race.
Jimmy does nearly all of his training on his own, and is fairly new to running, so to run such a fantastic time is really incredible.

Congratulations to everybody who raced this weekend, and sorry if we missed anybody out. Thank you for all those who sent their reports in, it really does help...until next week..... keep training!
