Team Blizard Race Report
Once again, we have a bumper edition of our race report for you as we celebrate all the runs from the community up and down the country, both home and abroad.
Kicking off the week, we saw the ever-popular Haltemprice 10k over at Hull, where long-time supporter of the clinic and Sheffield athlete Kenny Hunter took first place in the V55 category.
Staying with the 10k theme, the Curly’s athlete Poppy Brigg 10k took place in windy conditions. The Davies crew of Lee, Lucas, and Mary, along with Matt Whitewood, all had excellent runs in challenging conditions.

Where coached athletes Tom Whitley and Dean Thomas both gave great accounts of themselves. The race for the ladies was won by Trish Jackman of Newark under the tutelage of Bill Taylor, whose team is going from strength to strength currently.

Abroad, it was the Frankfurt Marathon and Valencia Half Marathon where we had athletes competing, but a little nearer home, it was the next round of the South Yorkshire Cross Country League, where there simply were too many of you running to mention everybody, but well done everybody.
The last race to mention is the ever-popular Worksop Half Marathon that includes part of the picturesque Clumber Park, where we saw Worksop harrier Tom Shaw run very well, along with Nat Neville who took the V45 title. Matt Taylor from North Derbyshire running a course personal best, Elle Warren shows she is on course for Valencia Marathon with her 2nd place overall in the ladies race, training partner Tommy Sharp running well as did Friday night regular in the class David Butler while Leeds athlete Madeleine Stansfield took 3 minutes off last year's time to name just a handful of the guys who ran.

Each week we like to nominate someone who we feel deserves the title of “Run of the Week”, and this week it goes to training partner to many of you, Matt Wroe, who took his 4th race in a month and finished with a flurry, going under 80 minutes for the first time to record a brand new half marathon personal best.

Thank you for everybody who sent in their results, it really does help us, and sorry if we have missed anybody out. The action continues next week, where we have the New York Marathon with several of you running there, but until next week………… keep training!
