Team Blizard Race Report

Once again it is that time of the week for the Team Blizard race report.
We have a variety of distances, surfaces to report from where the running community who have raced over the last 7 days.

Kicking things off, we start with the West Yorkshire Cross-Country League at Thornes Park in Wakefield, where long-term supporter of the clinic Susie Hinchcliffe continued on her return to form with a fine run.

Same surface, but different league, the tough Peniston Cross-Country was the next round of the South Yorkshire Cross-Country League, similar to the West Yorkshire, where again, so many of you were racing. Great runs to note were from Adele Marsden and the Davies duo of Lee and young wolf Lucas, both running well on the undulating course.

Another off-road race to consider is the Heanor Trail Race, where North Derbyshire coached athlete Matt Taylor gave a good account of himself as his good form continues.

A long way further south on the South Coast saw the Brighton 10k take place, which also doubled up as an age-group qualifying match. There were both good runs from North Derbyshire athlete Beth Warwick and Madeleine Stansfield from Leeds, as both had an excellent race.

The final race to report from was a little nearer home was the Derby 10 mile road race, where the trio from Workshop Harriers of Tom Shaw, Lucy Binch and Tamara Hazlehurst all ran exceptionally well, with Tamara and Lucy running new personal bests.

Each week we have a “Run of the Week" accolade, and this week within that Derby 10 mile road race, it goes to Clowne roadrunner Malcolm Stapleton, who ran his fastest 10 mile race since 2014. Yes, you heard it correctly, and Malc took a podium position in the V60 age category

A massive well done to everybody who raced, and thank you to those who sent their results in, it really does allow us to compile this race report. Until next week…………keep training.
